CBIA ENDORSES SAM CALIGIURI

The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) today endorsed Sam S. F. Caligiuri
for election to the state Senate, representing the 16th District.

“Meeting today’s economic challenges while continuing to build a healthy, prosperous state, create jobs and develop the economy requires intelligent, decisive leadership,” said John R. Rathgeber, CBIA president and CEO. “Sam is the person with the knowledge and commitment to meet these challenges.”

Legislators elected to the 2007 General Assembly will deal with many critical issues, including job growth, health care, taxes, transportation, energy and workforce issues, all of which affect the health and vitality of Connecticut's economy and the quality of life for the people of the state.

“We encourage voters in the 16th District to elect Sam, who we believe will work to make
decisions that will make Connecticut a better place to do business,” said Rathgeber.
Caligiuri, who lives in Waterbury, is seeking election in the 16th District, which includes the towns of Cheshire, Southington, Waterbury and Wolcott.

More about Caligiuri, including campaign finance records and biographical information, can be found at CBIA’s election Web site, CTbizVotes.com. A complete list of CBIA-endorsed
candidates and information on key issues in the upcoming elections are also available on the site.

The endorsement was made by CBIA/EPIC, the political action committee of CBIA.
CBIA is the state’s largest business organization, with 10,000 member companies.
